Freudian Slip Costume by kittyvane Freudian Slip Costume by kittyvane
This is the Halloween costume that I never got to wear (besides for the photo, obviously).
I've been meaning to make this costume for ages, but I haven't gotten round to it untill now. It took me a day to gather all the materials and an other to put it all together. My budget was quite tight, so I rooted around the city for bargains that would still fit the the design. The total cost of this outfit came to about 25.
My original design for this costume can be found here: [link]

The slip itself is a very old slip that I found at a local used clothing store years ago. I washed it, patched it up a little and then embroidered the word "Freud" on the front with pink sequins and clear beads. The inexpert shortening of the hem was done by the previous owner, and due to the delicacy of the fabric, I couldn't take it out without doing damage to the rest of the hem.
The wonderful granny-bra and panties are a terrific find I did at a supermaket near by. Not only were they very cheap, they're super comfortable too. I decorated them with lace and a bit of ribbon for the bows. I couldn't follow my original design exactly, as the way the lace was set out in the design didn't look good on the bra I got.
The stockings I did nothing to but wear them.

Photos taken by ~sumppi and me.

It's a kinda freaky coincidence. A couple of my friends and I were talking about how there should be an item of clothing called a Fruedian slip (the context for which discussion being the pub :D ); seems you got there first. lol. :) It's pretty funky.

I don't usually gush about deviations, but this is brillant! The style is perfect, the joke is subtle (I'm glad you used pink sequins), the pictures are well put together and to top it off it's one of those rare inspirational deviations that make you want to get off the internet and actually DO art. I don't know why I never thought to put my conceptual halloween costumes on devart, but I now I can't wait to put my costumes back together and post them. Thanks for being fabulous.
P.S. I love the rest of your gallery too.
