2014 Calendar Cover

The ribbon for the bookmarks and the elastic holding the covers closed are from Finland, the linen and fuzzy bobbles on the bookmarks are from Estonia and the appliqué, blue fabric and lace are from Japan (as is the calendar, a Hobonichi Techo, itself). I faffed about with fabrics and notions for quite a bit, trying to decide on which ones to use, in the end settling on this sweet little felt donkey appliqué as this is the year of the horse and I thought... well, that donkeys are close enough.
